Put your business on Apple Maps and Bing for free
Use the current Apple Business and Bing Places dashboards, distinguish a brand from a Maps location, and keep Canadian and US details accurate.
Updated 2026-10-04
Google is the first listing to finish, but it is not the only map customers use. Apple Business manages your presence across Apple services, and Bing Places covers Microsoft’s local results. Both offer free presence-management tools. Eligibility and address controls differ by platform.
Prepare one source of truth
Write down:
- legal and public business name
- public address or service area
- main phone number
- website
- regular and holiday hours
- primary and secondary categories
- short description
- logo and current photos
Use the same facts on Google, Apple, Bing, the website, and social profiles. Minor formatting differences are fine. Conflicting names, phones, or locations create customer confusion and harder verification.
Apple Business: the current dashboard
Apple launched Apple Business on April 14, 2026, combining Business Connect, Business Manager, and Business Essentials. Apple says existing Business Connect business information migrated. Check your existing record before creating another one.
- Go to Apple Business.
- Sign in with a business-controlled Apple Account.
- Follow the organization and brand setup. For a physical location, search for its existing place and follow the claim or location-addition process offered.
- Complete verification using the method offered for that feature.
- Review hours, categories, website, phone, logo, and useful photos where supported.
- Preview the published presence and test its customer links.
Apple’s current business-presence guidance distinguishes registering a brand, including virtual and service businesses, from managing a Maps place card for a physical location. Registering a virtual brand does not guarantee a Maps pin. Use the eligibility and address rules for the exact feature; do not invent a customer-facing location.
Apple also offers paid Maps advertising in Canada and the United States. It is optional and separate from free presence management. Finish accurate details and working links before considering advertising.
Bing Places
- Go to Bing Places.
- Sign in with a business-controlled Microsoft account.
- Import the completed Google Business Profile where that option is available, or claim the business manually.
- Review every imported field instead of assuming it is correct.
- Complete verification and check the live listing.
Microsoft moved the dashboard to Bing.com in October 2025 and says existing users and listings migrated. Import saves typing; review any ongoing sync settings rather than assuming later changes propagate. Check the published result after a material update.
Service areas and home addresses
If customers do not visit your home, do not publish that address merely to obtain a pin. Google’s service-area settings are not a universal model for Apple or Bing. Confirm what address must be supplied privately and what appears publicly in each platform’s current flow. If a feature would misrepresent your business, use another eligible presence route.
Use Canadian postal formatting and the same province and municipality wording customers see on the website. Quebec businesses should review whether the public business description and customer-facing information meet applicable French-language requirements.Use consistent US postal formatting and list a service area you can genuinely serve rather than a collection of distant cities.
Branded Mail is not a business mailbox
Apple’s feature-availability table lists Brand and Location Management and Branded Mail for both countries. Branded Mail changes how verified branding can appear in Apple Mail; it does not create a hosted mailbox.
Canada: the table does not list Mail, Calendar, and Directory for Canada. Do not change MX records on the assumption that Canadian Branded Mail provides email hosting.United States: Apple lists Mail, Calendar, and Directory. Review the eligibility and migration checks in our email guide before moving mail.
Quarterly check
Every quarter, verify hours, categories, phone, website, service area, and primary photo. Update holiday hours before the holiday. Check listings from a logged-out browser or a customer’s phone.
The free route is sufficient for nearly every small business. Paid listing management is justified when many locations make manual updates unreliable and the service can show exactly which fields it controls.
